Gymnastic and Dance Community

I am a part of multiple communities, some of which are, the dance and gymnastics community. I participate in these communities almost every week and these two hobbies are my life aside from school. The dance and gymnastics communities have many differences and similarities at the same time. Even though they are so different being a part of both communities allows me to become both a better gymnast and dancer.

Gymnastics and dance are marvelous communities to be a part of especially if you can use them both as a way to become an excellent gymnast and/or dancer. There are an immense amount of gymnasts in the gymnastics community all around the world. Since the community is so large we can all come together to improve our skills, create, and learn new ones. Gymnastics also allows you to work as a team and create friendships that will last a life time. It can also make you stronger not just physically, but mentally as well. In the sense that learning so many skills you learn some words from many different languages that you probably would not have learned in school.

In comparison the dance community is much larger than the gymnastics community even though there are thousands of people apart of the gymnastics community. Almost every little girl has been to a dance class at least once in their life and this is one of the main reasons the dance community is so large. Another reason being the fact that almost everyone can dance even if it’s not the best or has no technicality at all, if you can move your feet or your hands, you can most likely dance. The dance community also has many communities within the community. What I mean by this is that there are many genres of dance that can be split in to different groups or communities.

I feel that I can be split up into multiple communities within the dance community, such as hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, and acrobatics (which is mainly where gymnastics ties in to dancing). In the dance community you can also learn new languages as well as new skills and fun while doing it.  Both the gymnastics and dance communities are alike in numerous ways and different, but that is why I enjoy both of the communities so much.

Lokai Bracelet’s

Some of my favorite accessories that I own are my Lokai bracelets. Lokai is a company that partners with different organization and raises money by making bracelets that support these organizations.  Some of the organizations that Lokai has supported are (RED), charity: water, BCRF, Oceana, Make a Wish, Alzheimer’s Association, Save the Children, Susan G. Komen, and World Wildlife Fund. Almost every month they choose a new color or colors for the organizations bracelet. Some of the color they have had hot pink (BCRF), pastel purple (Alzheimer’s Association), maroon (RED), blue (charity: water), rainbow (Make a Wish), and blue white and gray (Oceana).

At the end of last year and this year Lokai came out with a collection of all of the bracelets they had made during the year. The name of this year’s collection is “The Lokai Pact.” This collection is spherically shaped and includes the six bracelets from this year. This year Lokai also came out with a Water Pack to support charity: water. In the Water Pack, there is a water bottle, blue bracelet, and a virtual reality set. Styles of Dance Explained

One of my favorite hobbies is dance. Dance is moving rhythmically to music, using following a sequence of dance. There are many styles of dance such as: tap, ballet, hip-hop, and pointe. All of these styles are different, but in the end the base of all dance styles is ballet. My favorite style of dance is hip-hop because it allows you to express yourself the more than any style, in my opinion.

Tap, ballet, pointe, and hip-hop are some of the most common styles of dance. In tap you use shoes with “taps” on the bottom of them. These taps help you make movements in your feet that create a rhythmic sound. Ballet is the style that requires a massive amount of strength, flexibility, and concentration. Hip-hop is one of the most energetic styles of dance. You have more fun when you do hip-hop because it allows you to let loose while also throwing some technique in every once and a while.                                                                                                                                                                       Ballet is the style that requires a massive amount of strength, flexibility, and concentration. Ballet consists of footwork, jumps, and tons of arms. This style has to be one of the most painful besides pointe. Pointe is even more difficult then ballet. For pointe you must dance around on two of your toes and look extremely graceful doing it, even though you are in excruciating pain. Pointe is definitely the reason why dancers have really ugly feet. All of these styles of dance are challenging, but that what makes them so great. The harder  something is, the harder you want to work. If you always keep this mind it will help you get farther in dance and everyday things in life as well.
